Pauline's Showcase

If Pauline had to nominate her favourite technique it would have to be beading which she finds very addictive. She loves to try new projects and, since it is no exaggeration to say she has millions of beads, she will be beading for a long time to come. But she loves skipping from craft to craft and, as can be seen from her gallery, she has tried a variety of different things and will continue to do so.

This is just one of five cross stitch button pictures Pauline has completed.  The cross stitch works up quite quickly but sewing 55 buttons on is a bit of a chore.

Pauline has given away most of the etui boxes she has made but she intends to make one for herself one day, larger and perhaps hexagon shaped.

This is just a sample as Pauline has made many more beaded amulet purses and will no doubt make others as she loves sewing them.

This is another sample of her beadwork, a covered crystal and also a ball in beaded netting for decoration and also a basket.

This box was made at a Heidi Jenkins workshop and although it took many sewing hours Pauline was pleased with her work as she didn't think she had it in her!

Just a small sample of the jewellery Pauline has made, these are mostly spiral staircase done in every possible colour combination.
Pauline used this pansy appliqué to decorate a bag. The pattern was from a book and was very quick to make. Amongst this collection is a knitted beaded bag which Pauline made at one of our Four Corner days.

This needlecase and scissor keeper were practise pieces which Pauline made to show to her group at a mini workshop. The scissor keeper is her second attempt – she got the scale a bit wrong with the first one which would, she says, have looked more fitting on garden shears.

These are just a selection of Pauline’s lariats, mostly in a daisy chain stitch.  The technique was explained to her and she managed to do it from memory.  As usual, she repeated it in lots of different colours.
Some new techniques Pauline had to try using peyote, spiral and brick stitch. When she saw the pattern for this crinoline lady in blackwork Pauline just had to do it.
Pauline won this gorgeous coloured celtic knot cross stitch kit in one of our raffles.

Pauline started the blackwork lily at a dayschool although she didn’t complete it for almost a year. It was her first piece on evenweave so was pleased with the result.
