Dear Members
Just a few notes for you to take away on the summer break as we have no meeting in August.
Next meeting is Saturday 5th September as will be just around the corner! In the morning we will be showing you how to make a Patchwork Christmas tree. Bring 2 fat quarters of Christmas design patchwork fabric, preferably to matching colours (eg Green for one side and red for the other). Also any decorative items you have for embellishing eg beads (large and small) plus some stuffing and matching sewing threads. We will bring extra items which you can buy from us. Afternoon is speaker Pat Trott talking on her life, stitching, lace and writing her book.
Membership. Since we started the group in November 2007 67 members have enrolled and numbers continue to rise. This is a very healthy sign. If you have any friends who are interested they are welcome to come as guests – the cost is £3 for the day.
Knitting and Stitching Show Saturday 10th October. We are running a coach (with toilet facilities) to the show and if you have not put your name down there are still a few places. We will leave Meopham library at 8.45 am and get back at about 6pm. The cost will be in the region of £20 which includes entry to the show and a deposit of £10 is required now to reserve your seat. Friends and family welcome too if there are spaces. Please contact Carole.
Programme for 2010. Already we have planned the programme for 2010 which includes a dayschool with Jennie Rayment our speaker at 6th June meeting (once seen never forgotten!) Also we will have another bring and buy to raise funds for the group and a local charity and many other interesting speakers and projects.
Search Press books. Don’t forget you can order any books from Search Press through Carole. Just email me or send me a note of what you want carole@tacks-crafts.co.uk We get 35% discount on orders over £50 - 25% goes to you and 10% to the group.
Not much more to report. Enjoy the summer and come back fresh. If there are any particular items of craft or stitch you would like included in future programmes do let us know – we like some feed back! Also if you hear of any interesting local speakers we are always on the look out.
Happy Stitching!
Carole (Hon Treasurer), Tricia (Projects leader), and Pauline (Group leader)
