Newsletter (2) July 2008

This is our second Newsletter and we hope you enjoy reading about the future plans of the group.

  1. At the July 5th meeting please pay for the coach trip to the Knitting and Stitching show (11th October) if you are going. The charge is £20 including ticket and there are still a few spaces for friends or family. Details of departure venue will be announced in September.

  1. There is no meeting in August

  1. Saturday September 6th am will be a time for finishing off all those projects you started during the year. Please bring to the November meeting so that we can have a nice mini exhibition. For those who have completed all the projects (!) Pauline will be showing how to make a canvas work bookmark. The afternoon will be a talk by Jean Ball.

  1. Saturday October 4th. Between 11.00 and 12.00 we will have a bring and buy sale. If you have any unwanted gifts to donate or things you have made please bring them on the day. (NB. This is not a jumble sale). Lunch that day will be between 12.00 and 1.00 and from 1pm we will have a four corners afternoon with Pauline and Alan Smith and Joy Robinson plus one table for UFO’s, WIPs and chat.

5Saturday 11th October 8.45 leave Meopham for visit to Knitting and Stitching show.

  1. Saturday November 1st a.m. This is the start of our second year! At 11am we will have a short AGM when Carole will present a resume of the year’s finances, we will tell you of plans for 2009 and there will be time for any questions or comments. We will be collecting subs for 2009 at this meeting and expect them to remain at the same level as last year £20 (cheques preferred if possible). Also, there will be a display of work you have completed during the year. Please bring everything you have made. During the lunch break we will cut (and eat!) a cake as a small celebration. Starting at 2pm we have a speaker Irene Baldock.

  1. Saturday December 6th am. We will make a Christmas Ribbon. In the afternoon we will have a TACKS quiz and a tea party.

On April 4th 2009 we will be having a Bag Auction. Members will be asked to make a bag (s) and bring them for auction to raise funds for the group. This can be any design, material, colour or size. We are giving you plenty of notice so that hopefully we will have a good selection. There is no limit to numbers – you can make as many as you like! Tricia’s husband Graham will be the auctioneer.

Finally, we would like to thank all our members who have given so freely of their time to help with teas, the sales table, putting out chairs and tables and clearing up at the end of the day. Without all that help the running of the group would be so much harder.

Have a relaxing and happy summer break and come back refreshed on September 6th.
